What is a Penny Sale

Derivation:  A single dollar buys a ticket, which provides 100 chances to win the 100 prizes drawn during one of the sale events of the evening.

Separate Sales:  This year there are two separate sales conducted, Group 1 and Group 2.  The  prizes in each group are listed in this program in the order they will be awarded.

Procedure: Rotarians will be selling tickets for $1.00 prior to and during each group.   They are all numbered and grouped according to the sale pages of the program.  All tickets sold are placed in a large clear plastic drum and withdrawn randomly for the prizes in the sequence they appear on the program. The ticket drawn is then put back in the drum and may be drawn again.  Hence the name PENNY SALE. Occasionally, substitutions are required.

Winning ticket holders are asked to stand and wave the flags provided to each car vigorously!  This will help us deliver prizes as quickly as possible.

Please retain all Group 1 and Group 2 tickets purchased for the drawing of the President’s Prize which will be the last ticket drawn..

Raffle Prize:  This year the club will hold two separate raffles for a Flat Screen HD TV, donated by UBI and a $500 Amazon Gift Card donated by Alan and Nancy Wasley. Tickets are $5.00 each. Winner does not need to be present to win, and the drawing will be held after both groups of prizes.

Special Prize:  We have a special gift this year donated by the Plainville Fire Company - a ride to school in a fire truck.  Three  lucky Plainville students will have the opportunity to win this special prize, one from Wheeler, Toffolon and Linden Elementary Schools.  When you received your program, you were given a red ticket for each person in your group. If you want to try and win one of these prizes or want to give it to someone, you can enter your ticket at the TV raffle table.  Put your ticket in the appropriate Wheeler, Toffolon, or Linden container.  One ticket will be drawn for each school and the winner will be able to select a student from that school to receive a ride to school on a fire truck.  The winner must be present and the student who rides on the truck must live in Plainville, and attend the specific school that the ticket is being drawn for.  The winners will be given directions on how to schedule their trip with the Plainville Fire Department.

This drawing will occur between the two ticket  groups.
